One-handed kakeya hammers and powerful paper rolls

This is the work that was selected for the 32st Kamiwaza Grand Prize Competition. The following is the concept of the work.

A light, soft paper roll lifts the seemingly heavy one-handed Kakeya hammer from below. This is a work that defies gravity and deceives the eye of the viewer. Realistic textures were drawn and pasted onto each piece, and the design was based on the dimensions of the real thing. This emphasised the sense of reality and also devised a way to highlight the mysterious state of unrealistic ‘defying gravity’. Superfine paper, glossy paper, imitation paper and paper cat litter were used as paper materials.
